Samuel Fuller School News
Oct 14, 2016
This year marks Samuel Fuller School's first venture into after school clubs. We began the year with a Running Club for students in 3rd-8th grade coached by Miss Julie Mattscheck. Miss Mattscheck coached the club participants on warming up before a run, breathing, pacing, and endurance. This four-week club helped prepare runners for the SFS Annual Trail Race, which was held on October 1. The Running Club students performed exceedingly well in the race, and we are proud of all of them for their hard work.
During the months of October and November our 3rd-8th grade students have the opportunity to join a Flag Football club directed and coached by Bob and Stacy Herman. Over thirty students have signed up to play, and we've had several parents and teachers join us to help out and to enjoy the beautiful fall weather while playing with our students. Our priorities for the students are to provide an environment where they can learn, exhaust some of their seemingly endless energy, compete, play as a team, practice good sportsmanship, build relationships, honor God and one another, and of course, have fun. Many thanks to the Hermans for coordinating this club!
